We may know this rule already, we will find out when 16T or larger nets will start appearing, which means we may have an answer or in other words ASI as soon as 2022. It emerges from size and complexity of the net + kind of data it was trained on + some simple architecture rule, reinforcement learning. I am in the camp that believes there's nothing magical, mystical in human intelligence. So hey, share your thoughts in the comments please, predictions, hopes, anything!

2045 seems a little too soon with the current rate of progress.īut i hope i’m wrong! And feel free to try and change my mind :) I just dont see the singularity happening as soon as i first did.
And i just really hope nothing like war has to be the catalyst for that.īut all in all i’m happy with the way things are going! I’ve definitely grown more optimistic about the future regarding climate change. I still love imagining tech utopias where things like dissatisfaction won’t be an issue, but i’ve grown more concerned with the transition to get to any such place. It was a bitter pill to swallow but i feel much more grounded now.
I personally have grown a bit less optimistic, but i feel that’s due to me climbing out of the valley of despair, since my first view of the singularity was a bit unrealistic. So yeah, how are you looking upon “the singularity” now compared to the last few years? Have you grown more optimistic? Less optimistic? Do you feel things are speeding up, slowing down? Etc! I’m pretty curious to hear what people think around here, and to hopefully exchange some views and thoughts!
